About the council

Who the council is and what it works to achieve.

Who we are

The Iraqi–British Business Council is a member-based council working to grow trade, open investment opportunities and help businesses expand between Iraq and the United Kingdom. Its central purpose is to help members sell more, reach further and find new commercial openings in both economies.

Through strategic partnerships, company-to-company introductions and work across borders, the council helps Iraqi and British companies, entrepreneurs and young startups enter new markets, attract investment and compete internationally.

The council brings together organisations of every size from many industries, among them trade, finance, energy, education, technology, healthcare and tourism, so they can share expertise and new ideas and create value that lasts.

Through targeted initiatives, trade missions and networking events, the council works to help its members achieve measurable growth, while adding to the wider economic relationship between Iraq and the United Kingdom.
